Structured support to an agreed change

The basics

All sessions will be online video calls, unless agreed otherwise. The key objective is to ensure you are comfortable and in the correct state of mind and location to have a successful coaching session.

As a client you can expect unbiased attention and incisive questioning. We will use a range of techniques to develop goals, highlight possible barriers and find solutions.

Free introduction session (30 mins)

The key objective of the Introduction Session is to see whether we can work together on your coaching journey.
  • This session gives the opportunity to explain the ethics and standards that I will employ to build your confidence in my ability to create a safe space.
  • I will also reference the confidentiality that will be observed and the limited cases where this may not be applicable.
  • I aim to establish a rapport by creating connections and showing personal interest in you, the potential coachee.
  • I will share my experiences and background in coaching to build your confidence in my abilities.
  • I will set the boundaries to what I can and cannot do – such as therapy or counselling – and reinforce what coaching can give.
Finally, I will explain the commitments required from you as the coachee and give an example of what the next steps are. To ensure that the outcome of this session is clear, I request email confirmation or decline after a few days, to allow some reflection for the coachee and myself.

Contracting and Goal Setting session (45 mins - £75)

During the Contracting and Goal setting session I will ensure you are comfortable with your decision and walk you through our contract of engagement.

  • Contracting is a quick process that ensures there are no questions around its’ content. Following this we will move onto the “Goal setting”

Hopefully you will have some ideas about your goals that we may already have touched on in the introduction session.

  • Through appropriate questioning, probing and challenging we will establish one to three goals which will be clarified further as we go forward.

We will then focus on agreeing the next step by booking in Coaching Session 1.

Session 1 (60 mins - £100)

The whole discussion is driven by what you want to discuss, with guidance from me to help you use self-reflection to move towards some improvement actions that can then be tried before the next session.

  • I will first ensure you are comfortable and in the correct state of mind and location to have a successful session.
  • I will confirm the purpose of the session and the goal/s we planned to discuss, always recognising that these can change.
  • After reconfirming the confidentiality of the session, we will move into an open and challenging discussion.
  • I will work to understand what the motivation is behind the goals and then understand the broader background or related topics.

The wrap up will ensure actions are agreed upon and the next session is then planned and booked with an appropriate window for you to complete or try them out.
